Cabaret by Candlelight

An SRO audience thrilled to the musical talents of Choir members on display at a Cabaret by Candlelight on Friday evening, February 11. Performances ranged from Mahler and Rossini to Gershwin and Manilow. The Cabaret was sponsored by the choir exec and the choir. It was organized by a special cabaret subcommittee consisting of choir members and headed up by Kaaren Wallis. Other volunteer helpers were David Christiani (MC for the evening), Jim Coward (refreshments), Ann Birks (door prizes), Dorothy Thomas-Edding and Bill Paisley (decorations), Aria Umezawa (stage director), Jonathan Oldengarm (accompanist), and Susan Stevenson and Donna George (tickets). And of course the choir members were the performers along with the magnificent addition of Bruce Bolton on the bagpipes.  The choir is happy to announce that a profit of $2,343 was realized. This money will go to support the music program.
