Greetings from the Interim Moderator.
At its last meeting, the Presbytery of Montreal accepted the call of Rev. Dr. Richard Topping to St. Andrew's Hall as a true gospel call and appointed me as your interim moderator. I am glad to serve the congregation of St. Andrew and St. Paul in this way and trust that together we will discern the next chapter of God's work within this congregation. Since many people don't know who I am or the process of where we go from here, I thought it might be helpful if I introduced myself and the process we follow within The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
I look forward to serving with you in the peace and grace of Christ.
Rev. Dr. Dale Woods
Stated supply
Stated supply refers to the appointment by the presbytery of an ordained minister of The
Presbyterian Church in Canada for a specified period of time not to exceed 12 months.
This is a sustaining ministry that ordinarily provides worship leadership and may include
other pastoral duties to be determined by the session and the presbytery. We are very pleased that The Rev. Rod Ferguson has accepted the invitation to join us for the next few months.
Members of the Search Committee
Our bylaws require Search Committee of eight elders chosen by Session and eight non-elders elected by the congregation at large to seek a new Senior Minister to replace The Rev. Dr. Topping. Members approved by a congregational meeting following the service on April 26 are:
Elders: Thea Calder, Michael Cristofaro, Herb McIlreavy, Rhonda McClure, Margarita Medina-Ibanez, Judith Mowat, Susan Stevenson and Don Walcot.
Congregation members: Afua Agyeiwaa-Boateng, Raymond Brassard, Shuling Chen, Paul Cornett, Jeanette Kelly, Brian Merrett, Gerry Peniston and Suzanne Reny.
