There is still a free version of the player available. Scroll down past the ad w/face, and you will see a small blue link on left side for "free player" in the middle of the page FREE RealOne Player Clicking on this will take you to a page where you can download a free Real Player.
The broadcasts will contain encoding optimized for any bandwidth.
The optimal performance is based on the connection speed and network conditions.
