Event Details

Our Church School extends a warm welcome to all children every Sunday morning, with classes for Nursery through High School, as well as a supervised Creche for babies, where the service is livestreamed for parents who would prefer to stay with their little ones.  If this is your first Sunday with us, please ask one of the ushers to direct you to the Christian Education department or ask for Sharon.

Under the direction of Betty Jo Christiani, our children are currently learning two wonderful songs to share with the Congregation on Palm Sunday and Mothers Day.  We ask that you make every effort to have your children attend church school in the coming weeks, so they will have time to learn the songs and feel comfortable singing during the services.

The Church School children continue to work on their PWS&D Project, alongside the Mission and Outreach Committee – they are performing helpful tasks at home, as well as in their neighbourhoods, to earn money on their own to buy a Cow and Goat!!   Truly a Mission Project which involves a hands on effort!!  We will continue to give regular updates on their progress, every Sunday!  The project will be expanded congregation-wide, once Mission and Outreach has chosen a project.    In the meantime, our children were very anxious to get started!  You can look forward to their
“Cookie & Hot Chocolate/Lemonade Sale” after the Service in the Narthex on April 16.

Cabane a Sucre

SAVE THE DATE!!!!  OUR ANNUAL CABANE A SUCRE IS BACK!!!  The Church School invites the congregation to join us as we return to the “Sucrerie de la Montagne” in Rigaud on Sunday, March 19th, with departure for the Sucrerie right after the Service. The Church School is absorbing some of the cost to enable us to offer the visit at a reduced rate, and is also providing free bus transportation to those preferring not to drive on their own.  Maps will be distributed to those driving.  Please advise Sharon if you are interested in attending, and if you prefer to take the bus, at churchschool@standrewstpaul.com or phone 450-689-4379.  The owner and staff at the Sucrerie have missed us, and are anxiously awaiting our return!  Please see insert for details.

The A&P Youth Group would like to thank members of the congregation for their wonderful support and encouragement, as they participated for the 13th year in the “Coldest Night of the Year Walk”, in support of the St. James Drop-in Center who serve the Montreal homeless community. A huge thank you to all who sponsored the team as well as individual walkers, and a special thank you to the many volunteers who came out to help host the event, welcoming teams from all across Montreal.

Youth Group

To date, the St. James Center has raised 88% of its goal of $60,000 and the A&P Youth Group Team is very close to reaching its goal of $3,000.

But it’s still not too late to sponsor the A&P Youth Group team or a walker, as donations will be accepted for another week – please contact Sharon at churchschool@standrewstpaul.com if you would like to make a donation to the team or walker. You can bring your donations to Sharon in the Christian Education office after the services, or drop them off at the Church office during the week – cash or cheques made out to the Church of St. Andrew & St. Paul, noting it is for the Coldest Night are most welcome. You may also choose to make your donation on the Coldest Night website: cnoy.org/location/montrealdowntown, clicking on “donate to a team” (A&P Youth Group) or “walker”.
