In 2021, The Presbyterian Church in Canada agreed to make changes to its theology and practice regarding marriage and ordination, creating more space for LGBTQI2+ people to participate in the life and ministry of the church. These decisions were the result of years of prayer, study and discussion. During this lunch and learn, we’ll hear from Carragh Erhardt about the opportunities that these changes create, and ways that the church can work towards meaningfully addressing barriers that LGBTQI2+ people face in the denomination.
All are invited for a special “Lunch & Learn” Event in Kildonan Hall, on May 15, 2022 immediately following the service. Our guest speaker will be Carragh Erdhardt, Program Coordinator, Sexuality and Inclusion with the National Office of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Carragh serves as a resource person for ministries within the denomination, as they seek to become more welcoming and inclusive of LGBTQI2+ people. Previously Carragh served the church for four years through her work with Justice Ministries, with a focus on supporting healing and reconciliation initiatives, and Indigenous rights advocacy. Carragh our Young Adults Group and Senior Church School Class via Zoom, and we are looking forward to meeting her in person!
