New Year’s Study Group: “Sir Gawain and the Christian Journey”

Just after Christmastide, during the mirth and feasting of the New Year, a visitor arrives at the court of King Arthur, a great knight upon a great steed, both of them green from head to toe. The Green Knight’s challenge draws Sir Gawain, the best of Arthur’s knights, on a year-long Christian journey that is both delightful and profound.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is a beautiful tale of resolution, temptation, courage, humility, faith, and Christian journeying — an excellent companion as we seek to hold firm to our own New Year’s commitments, to deepen our Christian faith, and to “put on the whole armour of God.”

Four Thursday evenings (January 25, and February 1, 8, and 15); Session Room; 7:00 – 8:30. Excerpts from the tale will be provided and narrated. For more information, please contact Rev. Diviney ([email protected]).
