The World Council of Churches (WCC) encourages Christian denominations from around the world to hold a service during the week
The World Council of Churches (WCC) encourages Christian denominations from around the world to hold a service during the week of prayer for Christian unity. This year the service in Montreal will take place at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul. Representatives and leaders from many churches will participate. Please plan to attend.
As Christians from many denominations around the world, we will gather to pray for unity. This year’s theme was chosen by the churches of Indonesia from Deuteronomy 16:18-20, “Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue.” We unite to pray for justice for the weak and the orphan, to maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute and to rescue the weak and the needy.
The Organizing Committee is made up of representatives from the Canadian Center for Ecumenism, as well as the Anglican, Armenian, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Presbyterian and United Churches, Imani Family & Full Gospel Baptist Church and the Focolare Movement.
