Connecting with someone who cares can make all the difference for someone who is thinking about suicide, but family and friends often don’t know how to help and are sometimes afraid their efforts might make things worse. This presentation will provide concrete and practical information on how to recognize when someone might be at risk for suicide and how to help them. It is open to everyone who would like to learn more about how they can contribute to suicide prevention.
This lunch and learn session is part of a series of events over the next week that cover this topic. Please also plan to attend our upcoming candlelight vigil entitled And I Kept Living on Feb.8 at 7:30 pm as well as our Sunday Worship Service on Feb. 9 at 11 am where we will further contemplate the subject of suicide and the stigma associated with mental illness.
