In John’s Gospel, Pentecost occurs on the evening of Easter Sunday. The disciples have gathered under fear of arrest and certain death. Jesus appears to them and says, “Peace be with you.” He breathes the Holy Spirit upon them and along with it, his gift of peace and the ability to forgive those who wish to do them harm. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Pentecost with the Sacrament of Holy Communion and as we breathe the peace of Christ.
